Arrow Fluval Fresh F60 - My first venture into fishkeeping..

So around three months a go I started looking for my first ever aquarium. At first the idea was to help teach my two little girls how to care for a pet whilst also being something fun we could do together as they grow up, I quickly learned 'everything' (basically nothing) I knew about fish keeping was wrong and then I discovered planted tanks Anyway two months of stumbling and tinkering my way through my introduction to this wonderful hobby our tank finally has some direction and now seems as good a time as any for a proper journal. My main aim is simply to track progress, growth and keep me motivated when I look back at how far it's come.

-----

I picked up the tank together with all of the equipment used and in really good condition

Fluval Fresh F60 Aquarium and Cabinet 60 x 35 x 45CM, I've estimated this to be approximately 70L once substrate etc. is taken in to account.
Fluval 206 Canister Filter
Fluval M 100-watt Heater
Fluval Aqualife and Plant LED Light 25W - 1,495LM - 5200 K - 15in from the substrate, I think this puts me towards the top end of low light?

pH 7.4 - I don't have a test kit for hardness but my supply has a dGH of 25.
ADA AS Amazonia

Vallisneria Spiralis
Sagittaria Subulata
Microsorum Pteropus
Staurogyne Repens

Anubias Nana 'Pinto'
Taxiphyllum 'Flame'
Hydrocotyle Leucocephala

Zebra Nerite Snail x2
Amano Shrimp x5
Dwarf Gourami x3, 1 male and 2 females
Neon Tetra x11
Harlequin Rasbora x10

Currently running an 8 hour photoperiod and dosing 1ml Glut. and 1ml TNC complete daily.

The first picture shows the tank around the beginning of November when we set it up and the second picture was taken today after planting the S. Repens. I've moved, removed, propagated and replaced so many plants since the beginning it's now time to just let it do its thing and really grow in. Oh and no casualties so far so that's a relief

All the research definitely payed off! The tank looks really good, I hope your kids are enjoying it too. That Anubias 'Pinto' is also lovely, as well as those Gouramis. It is funny how you say you are going to let it grow in when it is relatively grown in at this point.

Thank you 😊

Can anyone offer a suggestion on what could be causing this issue? It's affecting quite a lot of the dwarf sag. older leaves

Maybe a deficiency of some sort? Increase your dosing a bit and see if that improves things.

Good call on ditching the fake planted background and going black😉.

Haha I totally agree 😄 that was a left over from the previous owner and I was undecided whether I wanted a pale or black background so left it on whilst I decided. Just a shame the black highlights the lighting bracket fixings

wow, fantastic tank! I've been wondering about the fluval f60 myself. How do you like the tank? Any problems with mold? or too much evaporation? Thanks for sharing your tank.
