thanks

Love the wood! Where did you get it?
my LFS PetWorld SB

mini update

i think my HC is doing alright on the left side of the tank

not too sure about the batch in the center

might replace the batch directly under the branch with Hydrocotlye tripartia Japan
might also replace the Ludwigia here with AR Mini

not too sure how my Tonina Lotus Blossom is doing either, it's a lil brown at the bottom (it's been in the tank for about a week?)

not sure if it's cuz of the KH or there's not enough light at the back

FTS April 29th, 2016

Denisonii Barbs kept picking off a bunch of my HC, not sure if I wanna bother replanting more from my emersed set up. Gonna add more buces in the future. Also I feel like i could use more stem plants, Im open to suggestions if anyone has any.

Changed my Sump (old pic from before adding co2) from

to

it just makes maintenance a whole lot easier.

Bought a 5 Tier Drawer from Walmart 17 USD+ 27 Gallon tote from Homedepot 12 USD. I'm only using 3 of the 5 Drawers.
First drawer: Japanese filter mat and polyfil.
Second drawer: packed tightly with a bunch of pot scrubbies
Third drawer: collects w/e muck falls through the first two. Third drawer has 5 1.5" holes drilled on the side that faces the pump.

I chose the black 27 Gallon HDX tote over the clear ones because it feels more durable, especially with the ribs on the sides and bottom.

Next thing I need to upgrade is my pump. It's rated for 295 gph but with the co2 reactor I' down to 189 gph. I think I would need a 475+ gph pump (before accounting for the reactor) to get around 300 gph.

Sumps tend to really degas co2 from the water column. You might want to blast co2. Plants shouldn't be showing deficiencies with EI, it's most likely a co2 issue. Other than that, looks awesome, I love your buce

I'm at 47.5 ppm for co2 according to this chart tom posted awhile back

are you talking about the Toninia or HC? If it's the Tonina, I planted a few stems at different parts of the tank before finally giving up and moving it to my emersed set up. I've read a few posts here from a few years back saying it does better in lower KH (2-4 degrees?)

I was talking about the HC, since I'm guess that's where the highest concentration of light is. Tom also mentioned that his chart/formula could sometimes over estimate the amount of co2 being injected. I think it might just need some time
