In high light aquariums, CO2 becomes a necessity.

As you mentioned, there are some cases where CO2 injection is not required. For example, in a low light aquarium, as there is less growth overall from plants, there is less demand for CO2, and as such, it is not necessary.

However, even in low light aquariums, the injection of CO2 has its benefits.
