As the title says, I am looking into trying some Sechem Flourish products and want to hear from users about it as I try to figure out what I should/should not use.
My tank parameters:
size: 10 gallon
temp:77F
pH:7.5
gh/kh: 70+ and 120+ (pH not likely to drop)
ammonia:0
nitrite:0
nitrate:10-20
Lighting: zoo med ultra sun 10 watt "u" cfl x2 with reflector, 15-17 inches above substrate, on 7 hours
Flora: anubias nana, anubias petite, java fern, anacharis, java moss, weeping moss, singapore moss, peacock moss, chirstmass moss, dwarf penny wort (I think) or cardamine lyrata (was free-be, can't tell yet)
Fauna: 1.5+ year old Powder Blue Dwarf Gourami male
I have had BBA that I treated a few weeks ago, I stopped doing weekly water changes afterwards and got diatoms and hair algae instead (now back into weekly wc again). I looked preventing diatoms, and I need a phosphate and silicate remover (can't get silicate remover only) and since phosphate is used in plant growth... not a fan of removing it..
I want to try Excel to keep algae down. I'm not sure if I should try other flourish products to balance out micro/macro nutrients needed for plants as well or if my mix of plants won't do well with Excel or other flourish products?
What have your experiences been with flourish products? Have they harmed any plants or fish (using proper dosing, not over-dosing)? What products would you recommend?
