Dang 100+ for months! No worries, I've used them before. I place one by the base of each sword and 5 across the front towards the middle for the DHG. I wonder if the DHG really needs these.

What I hate which is common is that some pellets make it to the top.

Also, if you have a lot of Malaysian trumpet snails in your tanks, O+ might not be ideal, because they will disturb the gravel/substrate and move the pellets up exposed... I learned the hard way when my mts disturbed my amazonia aquasoil sub with O+ tabs like crazy and a lot of the pellets moved up to the surface.. My bad experience, but luckily nothing too bad came with it; however I had a lot of pellets on the surface.. didn't look so appealing. So yeah, like devilduck said, you have to becareful with it and make sure you don't have a lot of mts population in your tank. I still have a lot of it in jugs..

Thanks to Bud29

Thanks to Bud29 for hooking me up with some 9 month O Plus!

Can't wait to make my own, now just have to get better at sticking those gel caps deep into the substrate!

So I'm guessing these 9 month ones need replacing in about 4/5 months?

For my 17 gallon, I placed about 15-20 capsules, but I pop open the capsules and let the granules spread across the bottom of my gravel. I think this is a best way to get a even distribution

So you're deliberately exposing the granules and letting the fertz go directly into the water?

No and yes, I am opened all the capsules and spread it out evenly 1-2 inches below the surface of the gravel. I did this before I flooded the tank. All the gel capsules do is prevent the granules from floating on top of the water. The fertilizers do not get released into the water column, only when the granules are exposed on the surface of the gravel.
