Hey guys, macro nutrients aren't supposed to grow mold right?
If that's right, what is this?

My macro's will grow mold. When that happens I just pour them through cheese cloth, which removes most of the mold (whatever is left I can't see).

Not sure what macro's those are though. Mine are clear. Your macro's look like my micros.

Gotcha. I mix dry KNO3, KH2PO4, and K2SO4 to make liquid macro ferts. Never seen flourish before.

What did you mix? If it's the stuff I listed, it's all white powders and comes out clear. Plantex CSM+B is the color of your pic.

I got them from a seller on here premixed. I just added water. yeah that's why i'm thinking the guy that i got them from messed up labeling bc i have a bag of white powder too. I had the thought when I got them, but since the person is supposed to be well known, i trusted it

It's more common to get mold in the micros, and I'm guessing that's what you have in that bottle. Who knows though, maybe they are different macros. I have no idea.

Pic of my ferts for you:

yeah i should have totally trusted my gut i hope my big bottle at home doesn't have mold. I wasn't planning on opening the micro packages until i was done with my flourish comp (which i keep refrigerated to prevent mold)

do you think i could add the rest of my flourish to the micro mix bottle?

confirmed labeling error

also, good to know that you can still dose if there is mold present. it will not harm anything

Not meaning to hijack but I have read to add excel to one of the mixes. Can I add it to both or only micro or macro. I have both in refrigerator. Also is metricide ok instead of excel.

If in doubt, add more plants!

i use Ascorbic Acid and Potassium Sorbate to keep the solution fresh and mold/fungus free, you don't have to keep it in refrigerator either.

Is this a mix, or do you have more info on how much to use of each?

I don't dose excel or anything normally but I may look into it. I'm also curious about the other method- asorbic acid and potassium sorbate. how much? how do you get it, etc

I put Excel in my micro mix, about 5ml per 1L bottle and then keep it in a fridge. Strangely enough, I got a bunch of mold in my last mix, the first time ever. Go figure.

you need MOAR excel! I last saw 10ml to 500ml. The heck with that, I started doing what Tom does.. I use excel as my water!

Then again, you might not want to do that if you have shrimp or sensitive plants.
