I did not use any fertilizer in my 55 gallon yet and was thinking to try something to improve the plant growth... Any tips what product to get?

I wouldn't like to purchase several different things if i don't have to.

My plants grow moderate, i would say but i thought they would benefit from a fertilizer, right?

Every tip and help is very appreciated

And what a bout a substrate? Would it work if i would buy some bags of the Seachem Flourite Plant Substrate and mix it in with my gravel or make a layer on top of my gravel with it?

Regards from Nadine

Since your tank is already set up and running I would get some API first layer pure laterite, and mix it into the gravel around the plants. Then get some root tabs and bury them under your plants, then I'd say to start dosing with Flourish Comprehensive, and this should perk up your system.

What are doing about co2?

What kind of lighting do you have?

Ok, that sounds good.

I don't have any Co2 yet, still looking into something good but not crazy expensive for a 55 gallon. Any suggestions.

I have LED fixtures.

Do you know the kelvin rating of the LED's? As for co2, and not wanting to spend a lot of money for one I'd go with a DIY co2 setup for it. It's cheap, it'll get you going with a co2 setup, and your plants will thank you.

Here's a link of what you'll need, and how to set it up....

No, unfortunately i don't and it is hard to find out. It was a kit from PetSmart, Brand TopFin, the 55 Gallon LED Kit. I have 4 Strips on each hood, 2 24" hoods.

Now the question, do my plants grow slow or normal? I have a Nana, was in a 10 gallon without any hood before, had 3 leaves... It has been now in the big tank for about 5 months and i count 10 and 2 coming, so 12... Is that a sign that it is growing good?

And the idea about the DIY Co2 is great. Is there a way to attach die Airline tubing to my canister filter or should i use the airstone (which i read is not the greatest)... Any ideas?

Well as long as your plants are growing, and look healthy then don't worry about the lighting. For the DIY Co2 I would use a glass diffuser for it, you can find them on e b a y for cheap. With a DIY Co2 setup I wouldn't recommend running it into a canister filter just because it's a cheap setup, and isn't worth going through the trouble of doing it that way.

Also be sure to get an aquarium check-valve and attach it after the gas separator and before the airline goes to the tank, this will help a lot when it comes time to mix a new batch of yeast, you just disconnect the airline from the gas chamber and mix a new batch and reconnect it.

This picture will show you what I mean...

This way you don't risk a chance of the yeast getting into the aquarium water.

Anubias plants grow slower in low lighting tanks, but can grow at a steady pace in highlight tanks.

If this is the tank you've showed photos of in other threads, you don't need any special ferts.

Just buy some root tabs and place one beneath your plants and you'll be good to go.

Your current light fixture will only support low-light plants like Anubias, Crypts and mosses.

DIY co2 normally last between 3-4 weeks with each batch of yeast/sugar mixture.

For the plants you have that were in your previous photos, you definitely don't need CO2 or heavy ferts.

CO2 would be necessary with much stronger lighting. And fert dosing would be necessary then, as well.

What you have is a low-light tank with plants that aren't demanding.

So if i ever decide to get a higher light, i should consider Co2 and Fertilizers?

Rather than saying it is a "consideration," with higher light, CO2 and fertilizers become necessary for healthy plant growth.
