Raising KH with Calcium Carbonate
Awhile ago (I wont mention how long) I used to remember how to do this but that knowledge has pretty much gone away through disuse.
How much calcium carbonate (in grams) would I need to add to a liter of water to raise the ppm by X amount (I don't really care what X is but say 10 ppm/L would be a easy number to work around).
My tap water runs about 30 ppm alkalinity and I'd like to raise that up to around 60-80 ppm while raising my Ca levels, thus using calcium carbonate instead of sodium bicarbonate or baking soda. I'll top off the additional calcium I need with calcium sulfate.
