HI everyone my tank has been doing extremely well for a while now, plants have been growing great.
I have even been selling some back to my LFS.
here is what I have been dosing daily.
3 ml. TMG
Fe 3ml (flourish iron)
And then all according to Chuck Gadds calculator,
Magnesium Sulfate
Potassium Nitrate
KH2PO4
K2SO4
all from a hydroponic store.
Ph @ 6.6 with a controller
KH @ 4
I will post you a few pictures to show you what has been
going wrong in the last few days.
My Hydrocotyle verticillata all of a sudden has dark patches where the stem attach's to the leaf, almost a bit transparent .

And my bacopa has holes in the edges of the leaves like so.

Any guesses as to what is out of whack? It has all just started in the last couple of days
Thanks in advance for any guidance you can offer.

http://www.csd.net/~cgadd/aqua/art_plant_nutrient.htm

Heres a chart with some deficiency symptoms. What is your GH? Is it as low as your KH?

The reason why I'm asking is that an excess of Mg can prevent uptake of calcium.

What type of algae eaters do you have? Many will capitalize on weak leaves and munch on the soft parts( Bacopa).

How often and how much do you perform water changes?

Marcel

Yes it is just the picture, the new growth is a nice shade of green.

The new growth on the Bacopa should definately be "green"... almost flourescent green mine was... then it would darken as the leaf matured... hmmmmm... and it does look "chewed" to me...

Raise Temp for breeding or medicating ?
Your Hydrocotyle verticillata looks like my Cardamine lyrata did when my tank temp's climbed to 83 degrees,(thermo stuck) , it hated the warm water and the leaves turned transparent like that...I lowered the temp back to 77 degrees and the lyrata was back in action. Some plants are affected by temperature and that stuff looks like the same leaf style as the lyrata ( thin , delicate almost )... just a guess cuz that looks very familiar. The leaves affected also never came back but new growth leaves did well...

Nope haven't changed the temp at all it stays a pretty constant 78
I also make sure that when I do my weekly 50% water change i get the temp just right.
