n00b needs help with lights and plant selection
I am setting up a 90g tank soon that will be my first planted tank. I want to try and keep it simple and low tech, with only occasional dosing and no CO2. I plan to use at least one Eheim 2217, if the need is there, I'll get a second. My planned inhabitants are a few leopard bushfish, some rams, hatchetfish, and maybe a school of rummynose tetras.
I want a carpet of some plant, but from what I gather that's not too likely to happen in a 90 without CO2. Any recommendations on something likely to thrive would be awesome!
My main question though is light. It's hard to start planning that without knowing exactly what plants I want, and I want to make sure all of the plants have the right light. It seems like an impossible chicken and egg scenario. All of my other tanks just have LED lights, so I've never had to worry about fixtures or the like before, just simple visibility. If anybody could help, I would really appreciate it!
