I think you have plenty of light. The plant on the left looks like java fern, pull the ends out of the sand or they will rot. You can tie or glue them to rocks or driftwood but you can't bury the stems.
What I've done with java fern is to leave it wrapped in the metal band you bought it with, and just sitting on the bottom. The old leaves will produce plantlets and you'll have enough java fern to cover the world!!! It can take a while but it's an easy way to multiply for future planting or scaping.
