20G High tank, left driftwood was store bought, right one was taken from a local beach (and soaked, boiled etc.)
Basic ADA planted substrate, lighting is from a Beamswork 3rd Gen, seems to work quite well. The plants in back grow like weeds, have to cut them back pretty regularly. The plants on the base grow pretty slowly if at all, which is fine.
The tank has been running for about 3 months now, we upgraded from a 10g and all of the fish are from the 10g, before I got more serious about fish keeping.
2 neon tetras
4 silver tip tetras
3 white cloud minnows
1 dwarf puffer fish
1 pleco of some sort, not sure what.
The dwarf puffer seems to be doing quite well, eating the few snails we accidentally got from our crappy LFS, while the pleco is starting to grow... Making me worried he's going to grow too much. I didn't know anything abuot pleco's before I setup the 10g, and went with what I had been told when I was a kid by my LFS, that pleco's clean the tank. Guess that wasn't quite true.
I'm looking for advice on what plants to put in, possibly how to better arrange things.
The moss isn't taking, you can see the chicken wire bare on the left driftwood where the moss is slowly dying off.
I would like something that would grow around the substrate to give it a real green look.
Other fish ideas would be welcome, especially an idea of how many more fish the tank can hold.
It's a simple low tech tank, ideally fairly low maintenance.
Any ideas would be great!
