How would you mount it? It looks like more trouble than it's worth. Plus, that's a lot of wattage for a small tank, which I am presuming you are getting it for. If it's for a larger tank, you will have a heck of a time trying to spread the light across the surface area. And if it's for a small tank, you can get the 27w Hampton Bay desklamp which is much easier to position over the tank without any mounting hardware.

Best of luck to you, whatever you do.

If that is the same light I am thinking of I too have considered a nano application for it. I work at Sears and have nearly bought that light since it has the ability to use only 2 or all 4 bulbs at once. I just couldn't figure a decent way to mount it or make it look decent so I never bought it. If you weren't worried about looks, it could probably just sit on top of a glass top on a small tank.

Rip it apart, gut it for parts in a custom canopy.
