I am finally getting going on setting up my Minibow as a low/med light planted tank. I was planning on retrofitting an AH supply 13 watt kit into the existing hood. I figured this would meet my lighting goals for low/med plants. However, I realized the 13 watt bulb is 8 inches long, while the hood is 16 inches long. I would center the bulb but would it give me good enough light coverage for the tank? I would use a reflector with the bulb but I am concerned the ends of the tank might appear dim.
Any thoughts on this?

I think it will be fine. There will only be 4 inches on either side that is not covered.

Thanks. I will install it and see. If I am not satisfied I will figure something out.
