I got the 6700 just out of habit, I've never seen the 10,000. I'm happy but I don't know if I could be happier.

I use both of them. The tanks with dark color substrate, I use the 6700. Tanks with light color substrate, I use 8800 and 10000. I find that 6700 is too yellow with the reflection of the light color substrate. Regarding plant growth, I don't see any difference between them.

Nino gave you what I would call the 'prefered opinion to hear', he's using both bulbs and can actually compare the two.

As SCmurphy said, this is all personal prefference. Personally, I don't like green, yellow or even too blue for freshwater tank. I like natural white. I spent a long time and money just to find the right bulbs to please my eyes. Some people prefer yellow than white.

I found that lighting dark color substrate to be much easier as they don't reflect and add anymore yellow or green.

Do you use the quad because of the odd tank size ? Too bad they don't come with 8800. It would be the most neutral white color there is. Right now, I always buy double strip lights. If I don't like the color, I just switch one of the bulb with different color. Maybe I'm just too picky about it.
