I have both bulbs on top of my tank, about 3"-4" (whatever the standard hood level is). I want adequate lighting for a high light tank. I am guessing this isn't enough, so I wanted to get more lights.
What sort of advice does everyone have to offer? I am such a noob at trying to realllly care about my lights. I used to by my bulbs from petco but I'd really like to save money if I can.
If you'd like more information about the Co2 setup before answering, I posted in a different thread at the link below.
You can get 6500k CFL lights at the local hardware/garden shop. I got some 32W 1800lumin ones for 10 bucks a pop. Paired with a decent reflector you can get a good amount of light out of them. Make sure you have enough CO2 and are dosing Nutrients (Search up EI Dosing) or you will have algae problems with higher light.
