Methods for raising light fixture
So I recently upgraded from a 24" 3 bulb Aqueon Modular LED fixture to a 24" Finnex Ray 2. Needless to say, for those wondering, it was a HUGE increase in light intensity.
However, I am also in my first week of pressurized CO2 with a solenoid, as well as keeping up with ferts.
My problem is the hair algae (and possibly BBA based on the darkness and shortness of the strands) and the GSA are blooming as a result of the increase in intensity.
With that said, I am being DILIGENT about dosing EI ferts (P, N, K, and Trace) and my CO2 is stable at green slight yellow during the day.

I am trimming as much of the infestation as I can, but I don't want to stunt the growth. My question is, should I wait a few more weeks to see if my new CO2 and fert routine slows it down, or should I raise my light off the surface?
If I raise the light, any common methods for doing so? I can't hang it from the ceiling, so I'll have to prop it up. I do not use a tank cover, because the joint in the middle completely blocks all light down the center.
