What are the best T8 bulbs?

I usually use T5s but am going to be using a T8 fixture on my current tank.

So my question is what T8 bulb would be best for a planted tank? It will be a 24" 2 bulb fixture so if you have a recommended combo of bulbs I would love your suggestions.

one 12000K and one Actinic

So a guy walks into a Pet Store

Guy: "I have Algae on my drift wood!"

Pet Clerk: "Take two Plecos and call me next week."

I think that would be way to blue.

I'd go for a 6500K and a Floramax.

I use 2x Phillips 6700k daylight bulbs from HD. $9- for a 2 pack. Has grown everything in my 55's, and 75 with 2-3 32watt bulbs

I'm not into the image, but into the hobby...

Hello Shig...

If you intend to keep low to moderate light plants, then GE has a good 6500K Aquarium Plant bulb for a few dollars each at the local hardware stores. I've used them in my tanks for several years with good results. A T8, florescent bulb is 32 watts.

I pretty much do the same with most of my tanks, run 32 watt T8's 6500k. All cheap hanging shop light fixtures. All from Lowes and HD. So cheap!

Haven't had any trouble growing anything honestly.

I used to have fish tanks. Now I have plant tanks.
