LED for Mini M

Well almost a month ago I set up my 20 Long. I got the 30" Finnex Fugeray for it ( also did two layers of window screen) and I have seen lots of plant growth. My plants just look very green and happy so I'm thinking about getting LED's for my Mini M. Question is what should I get??? I'm currently growing micro swords which are happy and HC which is not doing too well. I'm probably about to do a rescape though and will be growing dwarf hairgrass and lots of stem plants. I don't know if I should get the 16" fugeray or the 16" ray 2 or something totally different. I also have pressurized co2 and dose ferts.

Re: LED for Mini M

If you've been happy with the Finnex then that sounds like a solid choice. I've seen others using Archae, Build My Led.com, ADA makes led lighting. Even diy lighting would be an option. I guess a good question would be, why are you looking beyond the Finnex fixtures after having success with them? Do you just want to try something different?

the addiction continues...

I hung the 12 inch fugeray over my mini m. I'm doing metricide and no co2. My Belem hairgrass is growing in well. For the price you cannot beat the Finnex LED's. You can see it in my journal.

Are you going to be putting it directly on the top or hang it?

I want to put it directly ontop of the tank. I guess my main question is should I go with the fugeray or the ray 2? I'm still planning on using co2 and dosing ferts.

I think the Ray 2 will be a ton of light if you have it right on the rim. Personally I would do the fugeray. Check out the par charts in the Finnex forum.
