Tek lighting question

O.K. this is the last one. I promise . I have finally decided to quit messing around and just put a 4x54 TEK HO T-5 setup over my 75 gal tank.

This lead to a couple of other questions.

While shopping around. I found I can get the "plant-grow" version of the light for $240 with bulbs included. The "aquarium" version is about $270 without bulbs. As far as I can tell, the only difference in the two fixtures is that the plant version only has one power cord, and the aquarium version has two. Both have two switches, same reflectors etc. But saving $60+ sounds pretty good right now. Any input on this? Does anyone know for certain that they are the same? What would you recommend?

Next question involve the mounting. I like the hanging suspension kit, but my wife wants to put a picture up above my tank. Are the legs o.k. They are certainly expensive. Just wondering if anyone uses them?

You should go with the 2 cord version so you can have more control of your lights. Trust me, turning lights on and off at certain times gets old really fast.
If all the bulbs are on one cord, you have 2 settings: 216 watts or nothing.
With 2 cords you have have 3 settings: 108w, 216w or nothing.
The latter is much better, because you can put the different banks of bulbs on different timers to simulate high noon etc.

Sorry, dont know about the legs. If I were you I'd go with hanging it. Looks much better IMO.

The only advatage it gives you is to do things like a mid day burst. You can have any arrangement of wattage, just don't physically install the extra bulbs. You will find with the tek systems that you will be using 1/2 the bulbs because they are so efficient. I'd get the two cords though, I like the midday burst option.
