ODNO Eclipse Hood?

A couple of days ago, I got a free 20g high Eclipse.

Of course, the built-in light just won't do. I'd like to retain the aesthetics and function of the Eclipse hood, though.

It uses two 18" T8 lights, for 30W total. Think I can get away with ODNO 2x without melting the hood or acrylic wrap-around splash shield? Anyone actually done this mod?

Side note: The ballasts are apparently *not* in the hood. They're in a wall-wart, connected by only three wires to drive two bulbs! That's novel.
