Good Lighting Fixture for a 36 gallon 21" tall tank?
I've been wanting to do a planted tank similar to the iwagumi style I've been oogling at what seems like forever. I finally took the plunge and bought an aqueon 36 gallon bow front.
I've been doing a lot of reading, and I find myself stumbling upon article after article from this forum! You guys are gurus, and I really want to do my tank right. I need your expertise and ezperience to guide me or point me to the right direction.
The issue I read and understand is because my tank is 30" wide and 21" high poses a challenge for decent light for plants. (Depending on the fixture)
Yes, I do plan on getting a pressurized co2 system.
I wanted to have a lush carpet of glossostigma-elatinoides which Ive read demands medium to high light.
There are so many fixtures and opinions. Any thoughts on this fixture? Would two of these 24w be overkill for my tank? http:// http://www.drsfostersmith.co...3&pcatid=23753
One of those AquaticLife 2 bulb lights should give you medium light, and should also give full coverage of the whole tank. That would be enough to grow glosso, as long as you also use CO2.
Awesome! Thank you for the feedback/response. (From all of you) I will definitely be snagging this fixture. Hopefully I can show you all my end product of all this gathering and research with success. I'm sure I will have more newbie questions later.
