Upgrading lighting

is a 2x40 watt to much over a 10gal. Im just not getting the growth and look i want from some of the higher light plants. Currently i have a 36cf over the tank. Thanks in advance

The 36 watt light should be enough light. What other equipment are you using and what does your dosing regimine look like?

If you really want to the 2 x 40 is not too much light over a 10 gallon, but you better have the CO2 at 30 ppm and be right on top of your dosing.
