Fresh Geissman Bulb Malfunctioning

Today i noticed my tank was a little dim, so I looked up at the my bulbs and one of them is very very dim. It is a aquaticlife T5HO 2 x 24 watt, with two brand new geissman bulbs in it.

I switched the bulbs around thinking it might be an issue with the fixture and not the bulbs but alas the dim bulb was dim on both sides when switched.

Both of these bulbs were very bright when i first got them, did I just get unlucky with the life span of this one particular bulb?

It's a bummer if I have to order a replacement so soon . . . i thought these were supposed to be high quality.

Are there black rings at either end? That means the bulb is on its way out, right? Check the prongs, perhaps one is bent so isn't hitting the contact properly. I would be contacting the vendor if it is a bad bulb.
