Lighting question!

So i own a fluval edge 7 gallon(?), i was wondering if the stock LED's are strong enough for a planted tank? I don't have co2, but i have ferts/substrate.

I hear about being adding on to the mini hood it has, any one no what lighting they use to mod the hood?

This is actually a pretty fun and relatively easy project to upgrade the lights, tons of great ideas and projects out there.

IMHO without CO2 it would be a bear to get anything but general low light plants going in this tank with the mods, but to be honest, I didn't read all those links.

When you do decide to upgrade, show us a tank journal of what you're up to!

I'm also thinking about getting one of these tanks. LFS has the thing on sale for $90!

There's a bunch of great videos of these things on youtube for more inspiration.

As well as this great Aquascaping tutorial by George Farmer from UKAPS using a Fluval Edge.

Checkout this mod post. Fits in the stock housing using an $10 light from Walmart.
