Best quality compact fixtures? Quiet?

I'm thinking about going from 2.9 to 3.4 wpg's.
Who has the highest quality construction in compact fixtures? Jebo, JBJ, Coralife's Aqualight, etc.?
Aqualight looks like good quality to me. Can someone please tell me how quiet their fans are?
Thank you.

I have coralife aqualights and they are very quiet, but not silent, have a very good reflector and are constructed out of aluminium. Coralife make adjustable mounting legs aswell.

I am sure you won't go wrong with any of the complete lighting setups (coralife, jbj, and others.) if chose one of those.

We have an Aqualight on our 72g - a 4x 65w 48" unit that has 4 fans in it. It's surprisingly quiet, considering the 4 fans.

On the other hand, we have a small JBJ (2x 36w 19" bulbs) with 2 fans that sounds like a wind-tunnel! The tank is in the living room and we can hear it from the upstairs hall. If you want quiet, I'd stay away from JBJ.

72g bowfront, 4.5 wpg (4x65w 48" + 1x65w 24" Aqualights), 100% Eco-complete, Eheim 2026 & 2213, Pressurized CO2 w/JBJ Regulator & Milwaukee SMS122 pH controller, TurboTwist 12x UV Sterilizer

30g, 4.6 wpg, 100% Eco-complete, Eheim 2026, Pressurized CO2 w/Milwaukee regulator and SMS122 PH controller, Turbotwist 6x UV Sterilizer

16g high, 4.6 wpg, 100% Eco-complete , Eheim ECCO 2231, Hagen Nutrafin CO2, TurboTwist 3x UV Sterilizer

JBJ Nano-cube 6 - quarantine tank for now...

My external filter makes more noise than my Aqualights, but then again I only have the small ones. 20 and 24 inch. Getting another 20 inch for my 10 gallon. They are the best! Then again I've only used them and I'm way happy with their performance that I will stick with them for a long while.

Quality wise, I'd go with either Coralife or Hamiltons. They aren't the most quiet however, but you can rig a couple of different fans up to rectify this.

Maybe look into T5's. No fans needed.

Has anyone ever considered changing the fans in the JBJ fixtures to make them quieter? I don't know if there are retrofit fans out there that would work, but am curious if anyone has looked into it....

I can't say my Coralife fans are silent, because I can hear it when I turn it on, but after that I don't even notice it even though I'm sitting right by it much of the day. Very quiet.

I've seen Coralife, JBJ, and Jebo in action. I really don't like the Jebo lights because they look badly manufactured and I've read in different boards that they aren't very good. Coralife and JBJ are really good lights. Noise is always a factor with fans though. I have two Current-USA fixtures. I love them to death but they are noisy as well. I believe one is better of with T5 lighting. These lights put out tremendous light with minimal power consumption. I'm definately trying those out on my next tank!
