You literally have about a hundred options between commercial fixtures and DIY. Be more specific about your needs.
Um. I'm not crafty enough for DIY. I would prefer low maintenance. I'm new to this. Its a "regular" 10 gallon, don't know dimensions, it's not set up yet. I bought it used and plan on using it for a back up/quarantine tank.I was going to just use the fake plants and "clown puke" and cheap hood light that came with it. I really was. And then I looked at the bag of sticky "clown puke" and just couldn't bring myself to use it. So I ordered eco complete. And am shopping for a light.
I don't plan to do much with it right away. I will probably just move some of the wisteria from the other tank I have and put it in there until I get around to doing something more with it. I need this tank for a sick angel of mine who needs to be treated with an antibiotic and I don't want to mess up the cycle that I have finally established in the other tank. But I also don't want to buy a light that in the long run won't work. In the long run, I want to put a red plant in it. An easy red plant with the least amount of light and CO2 requirements. I have a natural plant system that I will use in this tank (for CO2). I will probably use two of the HOB filters and add an internal if I need more flow. I will just use floss in the filters. I will add Flourish once or twice a week.
I was researching it for awhile and then got lazy and posted this. As is what usually happens. I won't have a lot of time for research for another couple of months. But I need to get this tank going because my poor angel needs some antibiotics. I will just use the light that came with it for now. I want to try an LED light. I like the idea of "shimmer" and lunar lights. Was hoping someone had some experience with it.
I have gone to a place far below up above and in between the middle.
