Most everyone I know has read about the 'dirty' energy from CFL's. I have not taken it seriously until this past week. I was surrounded by many cfl's daily, and was having health issues, so I replaced all of them with LED's. I am feeling much better already. Without going into details, the amount of UV and high frequency radiation from CFL's can make a person sick. I have reversed my opinion quickly, and will no longer agree that CFL's are a good alternative for our homes or tanks.
It is going to be difficult to adjust to LED's over my plants since I don't have a PAR meter or PAR info on my LED's. (Flood lights, and spot light types for horticulture from my greenhouse.) I'm going to just put plants needing different levels of light in the tank, and see what lives. Can anyone think of a better way? The only numbers I can find for these LED's is lumens, and I don't know if lumens is of any value.
